Privacy Policy

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) came into force on 25th May 2018, this  regulates the processing of personal data and many changes compared with the previous data protection legislation. Our data collection and storage processes adhere to the regulations as detailed below. 

They do not affect your treatment but the way in which we store and use your personal data.  

As a client of Harrogate Physiotherapy Rehab it is our responsibility to clearly state your rights under the GDPR regulations. 

Your data will be processed lawfully, fairly and in a transparent manner. Personal data will be collected for specified, explicit and legitimate purposes and not further processed in a manner that is incompatible with those purposes. Personal data will be adequate, relevant and limited to what is necessary in relation to the purposes for which they are processed. Personal data will be processed in a manner that ensures appropriate security of the personal data, including protection against unauthorised or unlawful processing and against accidental loss, destruction or damage, using appropriate technical or organisational measures. 

You have a right of access, a right of rectification, a right of erasure and a right to restrict processing.  You may request a copy of your data at any time. Please make such a request in writing or by email to us, 

You will need to provide the following information: your name, address, telephone number, email address and details of the information you require. If you believe any of the personal data we hold on you is inaccurate or incomplete, please contact us directly and any necessary corrections to your data will be made. If you believe we should erase your data, please get in touch.

If you wish us to stop storing or using your data, please get let us know in writing. 

Where you have provided explicit consent for us to use your data you have a right to withdraw this consent at any time.

For the purposes of processing your personal data we are the Data Controller located at Harrogate Physiotherapy Rehab, Lanthwaite House  10 Apley Close  Harrogate  HG2 8PS. We will handle your data lawfully and only for the purposes required to treat you. We won't share it with any 3rd party organisations (without your explicit consent) and it will only be stored for as long as necessary. 

As part of your treatment we will need to store some personal information such as : name, date of birth, address, telephone numbers, e-mail address, GP details, your full medical history, diagnosis and treatment. We will store this securely during your treatment with us.

The purpose of this data is for providing Physiotherapy Services and will enable us to book appointments and communicate with you as part of our patient contract. 

Third party systems may be used to store your personal data i.e. Practice Management Systems and Accountancy Systems, these are fully compliant with the GDPR. 

All patient data including hardcopy and digital data are stored according to Data Protection regulations. 

We will retain your data for only as long as required. This will be during your treatments and for a maximum of 8 years after your treatment has ended. Payment details will not be stored centrally.
